NOTE: AI images were used in this blog post, but I no longer support the use of AI, nor do I use it, because I don’t like the extractive direction big corporations are taking it and how they are trying to rob artists of work, and, also, people using AI only make generic things since they are derivative of what humans already created. And the data centers are terrible for the environment and anyone living nearby. AI is not at fault, but humans using it at the expense of other humans.

Y’all, there you have the product of a weekend’s anxiety: a teeny image storybook for my teeny novel that is in the Slightly Sweetly, Slightly Creepy anthology (If you want to read it, it’s on Amazon here and on other retailers here [although we are unpublishing from other retailers to go into Kindle Unlimited, so if you buy through someone other vendor, get it now], and if you want to read some short excerpts from the stories, I do that here!).
Since I used to draw and I love pretty pictures, I not only tried to find ALL the pretty images, I also tried out generating some via AI. After hours of being part horrified, part in love with some of the images, I don’t think it’ll ever replace human creators, and I would definitely still pay a human for things like book covers, etc. But for minor stuff like blog posts, etc., the images work well enough. I am quite chuffed, as the Australian author in the anthology would say! Plus, it helped me through anxiety all day today, so yay for that.
In any case, hopefully the story told in the pictures sounds as fun and dramatic as it was to write and brought you some happiness today π
And off I go! Take care this week!
