A Little Dose [of Prague…]

Relax from the emotional turmoil of this past week with a little dose of Prague. I’m taking you on a visual trip while I traipse through this wondrous city to and from my Saturday meetings every week. Come experience the magnificence and mystery of the city of a hundred spires!

The first bit of beauty arrives after I’ve dodged some trams, darted under an underpass rumbling with trains, and enter a park with a pretty epic fountain:

Then, after a little maze of streets, I pass this square with a solitary building painted with a sun at its apex (also, note the semi-towers with the spires – any idea now why Prague is called the City of a Hundred Spires? 😀 ):

After that come stairs up to a park, where the wall is peeling with fading graffiti of a woman’s face that also looks pretty epic:

At the top of those stairs, if you look back, you see the upper side of this cool building with a weird contraption on top (alright, so it’s probably just a bunch of satellite antennas or something, but my writer brain has decided it’s the control center for time travel 😀 ):

After that, I walk through another park with a weird maypole that I didn’t take a pic of, and a clock half buried in the ground, and after a while, up pops another park with pretty flowers and a view (isn’t it gorgeous?):

Haha and this is my face where you can see my wrinkles 😀 :

Buildings near my Saturday morning destination (Prague is SUCH a fairytale city!):

Another few turns, and I arrive! Here is the view from the top floor of the building where I spend almost every Saturday:

I’m usually there until after 9pm at night, and on the way home, I encounter eerie and inexplicable things. (Alright, so not REALLY, but I’m trying to make this more intriguing lol 😛 ).

Shortly past the tram stop lurks this iron-fenced lot that looks fantastically freaky (cat eyes added if you can find them haha!):

Here’s another pic (blurred by accident – or by some supernatural forces? – not intention…) that nicely exudes the secret eeriness of venturing down Prague’s nocturnal lanes (those lines along the bottom are a spiked iron fence around the tower):

Here is the epic fountain in the park again, only its nighttime view, when the waters don’t flow and the surface is still:

Stairs down in the park… [enter its dark fairy tale]

Near the train tracks hangs a peeling ad with a cat that looks like it has wings and text beside it that, translated, reads “Advertising with us is a game” (that is, game as in similar to child’s play, only I can’t translate it like that when technically it’s cat’s play :-D) :

I also pass a freaky display for an army-gear shop (“Hey, you have some really thick, sulky lips under that mask!” Rambo lips? Aaaaah):

Opposite is the STICK LEAF MAN:

That’s a suit of leaves if it isn’t clear, garbing a figure apparently hinged together from broomsticks.

And just around the corner before I reach home is a cake shop that was baking late Saturday night–probably baking wedding cakes being made to order–the worker puttering around the kitchen in the back, beyond the empty glass display, and wiping down the counters, but the picture is unclear, so I’m not posting it. You can imagine it 🙂

And if you’re still here and feel like you want more of my words, here’s my shamelessly copied weekly info for new Sonya addicts: feel free to join the newsletter I haven’t been writing (but intend to), join the patreon I’ve been seriously neglecting (but want to resume), or check out my books I don’t want anyone to buy (for realz cuz it’s my old writing and I’m like nooo, don’t read it…) before I unpublish even more (like I unpublished my dystopians).

Be kind this week, y’all!

    +×+×+×+
I still wonder if Arnie ever had a czech partner in his personal life, or would it be too much of a clash??
    …….
I definitely would watch a terminator reboot ..where the heroes need to run from a cyborg, through the gloomy misty cobbled street of hlavni mesto.
