You ever wonder about the villain’s side of a story? Why they did what they did and if they were truly depraved or just broken, and if anyone ever loved them at all? Well, an anthology is coming out to appease your curiosity and show their side and give them love stories! Lookie, ta da –>
Yep, the last name on that post is yours truly! I was accepted to this anthology with fairy tales told from the villian’s perspective (haha, mine is called ‘Come Taste a Dark God’ – ALL the drama!), and it’s up for pre-order! Description:
How do you break a villain’s heart? The first step is to steal it…
Join the authors of Once Upon A Wicked Heart as they detail the bittersweet, tragic, and depraved love lives of the villains we all love to hate!
These twelve dark retellings of fairy tales and myths include:
A Faerie queen with a score the settle, a mechanical heart that could be a young woman’s undoing, a god who takes back what was stolen from him in a gruesome fashion, a cursed maiden finds her worth, a jilted goddess who starts a bloody war, a serial killer who might have just met her match, a sister who seeks vengeance against those who wronged her, a nymph who seems to have found true love at last, a mistreated queen takes her rightful place no matter the cost, a heart of ice shatters, a betrayed witch vows retribution for the slights against her, and a sea witch learns that love cannot be so easily manipulated.

There you go!
And, eeep. Anxiety is rearing its ugly head now, and I’m worried that people will hate my story, but whateverrrrr. At least you can get the book for the other tales 😉 Personally, I’m all geared up for the one with the mechanical heart! And the shattering heart of ice! [Dammit, what is with me and loving all the hearts? ALL THE HEARTS! Whoo hoo!]
A’right, I’m a bit giddy now. Maudlin? Bah! Honestly, I didn’t expect my story to be accepted because I’m like it’s too weeeeird, and I’m actually happier that my fellow author’s story was accepted. I was dancing around my flat this morning singing ‘she got in; she got in!’ because she’s been so down recently that it cheered me knowing she was accepted, because now she might have something to uplift her spirits a little. I’ve been having a hard time myself, but I hurt more for my friends when they’re dragging, because me? Well, I’m used to hauling myself along. But you can’t really do that for friends, you know? They’d probably protest if you started dragging them along by their hair.
How’d I get here again? Dammit. Anyway, there you have the villain anthology, y’all, so if that’s your thing, go for it! And I thank you from the bottom (and every other part) of my heart! [ALL THE HEARTS, Y’ALL, EVEN THE VILLAINS’ HEARTS! Especially those in this case… gah, I ramble.]
Be kind this week to everyone you meet! Give as much as you can for free.
And, YES, I am still working on the ‘How to topple a dystopia’ post – I believe we can forge our way to a better present AND future for all of us!
And as usual, if you feel like you want more words from my dang mind, here’s my shamelessly copied info for Sonya addicts: feel free to join the newsletter I haven’t been writing (but intend to), join the patreon I’ve been seriously neglecting (but want to resume), or check out my books I don’t want anyone to buy (for realz cuz it’s my old writing and I’m like nooo, don’t read it…) before I unpublish even more (like I unpublished my dystopians, eep).
Oh wow, CONGRATULATIONS!! ❤ ❤ ❤
